Welcome to Deedle.uk (“we”, “our”, “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the rules for using our website and services. By accessing or using Deedle.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
1. About Our Service
Deedle.uk provides an online platform to help you create a Deed Poll document for the purpose of changing your name in the United Kingdom. We supply the document in the format required for use in the UK but we do not provide legal advice.
- Our service is self-completed: you are responsible for entering accurate information.
- We do not act as solicitors or regulated legal advisers.
- Acceptance of a Deed Poll by organisations (e.g. banks, HM Passport Office, DVLA) is outside of our control.
2. Eligibility
- You are at least 16 years old.
- You are resident in the United Kingdom.
- You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
- The name change is not for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.
3. Orders and Payment
- Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering.
- Prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
- We accept payment via the methods displayed at checkout.
- Once payment is confirmed, we will generate and deliver your Deed Poll by email or post (if you selected a printed copy).
4. Refunds and Cancellations
- Because Deed Polls are customised documents, once created they cannot be cancelled, refunded, or exchanged.
- If you make a mistake in the information provided, you may need to order a replacement at your own cost.
- This does not affect your statutory rights in the event of defective or misdescribed goods.
5. Use of Deed Poll
- We provide a template recognised by most UK organisations. However, acceptance of your Deed Poll is at the discretion of each organisation.
- We cannot guarantee that every body or authority will accept the document.
- You are responsible for arranging witnesses and signing in accordance with the instructions provided.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We exclude all liability for any loss, damage, or costs arising from the use or non-acceptance of your Deed Poll.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including but not limited to rejection by third parties.
- Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on Deedle.uk (including text, design, branding, and software) is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of our site without permission.
8. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to such processing.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of our service means you accept the updated Terms.
